Neck - Same Aibo as WJI03A-1 - What a nightmare! One
problem after another which started with the DFHS flexi fatigueing…Had to
bridge that…4 times. Finally replaced it as it was too damaged to keep on
fixing it. Main circuit card in upper head gave out and was replaced. Jaw
ji9tters and was fixed. Stiff neck freed and all seems to be perfect after 2
days of hard work on this Aibo. Owner got to watch me work on this aibo for a
few hours which I hope he enjoyed! Aibo's head tested on Winner and going
home happy and healthy. |

noisy legs and jittery head - House Call Repair to
North London November 30th, 2010 - Typical pan axis jitters which was cured in the normal way
;) Left front knee was ratchety and
cured by cleaning it all out. Aibo worked like a charm, but a flexi on the
motherboard was accidentally pulled out of its socket and caused the Aibo to
be unable to charge. Fixed this by opening the Aibo up all over again. Easily
fixed. Owner is an amazing person! Trip back home was an interesting
nightmare - It snowed in London and I was stuck in London Victoria train station
for endless hours. When I was finally able to get on a train, even that broke
down for over an hour! Finally got home at 2 AM! Owner was a real charm and
hope to work with again :) |

210 DHS -
No sign of anything wrong? - When the Aibo's head
arrived here, I popped it on one of my gold Aibos, named “Winner” and found
nothing obvious. Owner asked me to have a deeper look and I went a head and
opened the Aibo to see if the nodding axis has a new style (called a “210A
Clutch”) or an old style clutch (called a “DHS Clutch”). The Aibo has the old
style clutch and looks like it had previously been repaired for DHS by the
glue method. The clutch was already at a slipping state which meant the glue
had crystallized and was on the wait to failing. I went a head and repaired
the old clutch with one of my pinned clutches. Tested the head and it looks
great! Video recorded both the testing of the head and the DHS repair. Tested
on Winner and going home with a 100% guarantee on DHS only. |

210 Core
Issue (?) and DHS - Needs a BLACK tail - Has severe TAS jitteras and DHS as suspected - Needed a
core reset - All repairs (DHS and Jitters of
the tilt axis) went as planned with no problems. This repair was RECORDED –
Video is now online for public viewing.. Repairs went smoothly with no
issues. A bit dusty inside and out, but I went a head and de-dusted the inside
of the head and the outside of the Aibo. Aibo’s head was tested on itself and
the entire dog is working very well! Fitted with a new tail, he looks great!
Going home with a 100% guarantee on DHS only. |

Diagnosis - Will not boot - Will hand drop 15th
November Monday 8-10AM- Needs a SILVER
tail - Aibo
was hand dropped here at the AIBOHospital by the owner. After a couple of
hours of working on this Aibo (swapping parts with Rembrandt, one of my gold
210s) the only thing I could find in my search that was not working was the
main CPU motherboard in this Aibo’s core. Sadly this means there is nothing I
can do other than offer a spare core. Owner agreed and I fitted the Aibo with
the working core. Aibo will come with a 30-day guarantee on the core to not
fail or I replace it free of charge. Coverage starts the day the Aibo arrives
home. Aibo tested on itself and on Rembrandt and is working like a charm. SIDE NOTES -Aibo’s
ears were glued into place. This was NOT done by me. Also the Aibo’s core had
about 5 different screws that did not belong to it and/or in the wrong
places. So it appears the Aibo has had someone look inside of it, this was
not me. Some of the screws were even non-Aibo screws. |

210 Leg
Release pin fix - Track: ZW581846432GB - Extremely straight
forward repair. Right rear leg release pin track was fractured which made it
impossible for the leg to be released from the Aibo's core unit. Fixed
without issue. Tested core and leg with parts of Rembrandt and core ran as it
should (so did the leg). Going home happy and healthy. |

ERS-7
"Ouch" leg - I have become quite attached
to this Aibo (same Aibo as WIK20A) and was quite sad to hear he had suffered another problem
with one of his legs. Luckily the Aibo came in time for me to sort him out.
Oddly enough he suffered the SAME THING as
WJJ14A! I have never seen this happen before in an Aibo (with the
exact o-ring that is and in the location that it is in). The nylon-like
o-ring that is fitting onto the shaft of the main driving gears of each joint
completely destructed into many tiny little pieces (I took a photo) which also
minced the main drive gear in the hip motor housing (I got photos of this as
well). Unlike WJJ14A, I was unable to remove a critical screw in the hip
shaft to access the side of the hip drive gear to replace the o-ring, so only
way to fix the problem and the Aibo’s leg to return to normal use and
stability was to replace the hip assembly! Luckily this Aibo was black in
color as I only have black spares at this point in time (very very very
limited white). Replaced the assembly, the minced gear and put it all back
together. Leg works like a charm now! However, the Aibo was suffering from
severe jitters in the neck. Aibo’s owner instructed me to fix this, so I
have, which was pretty straight forward as this repair goes. Once put all
back together Aibo is running perfectly and ready to go home. |

ERS-7
Stiff neck, stiff right front knee - Left side came
to me with an odd dusting of white dust-like material in all the joints of
the legs and neck - Polishing combound? When I opened this Aibo's neck I
found debris contamination in all the gearing (both internally and externally
from the motor) along with a SLIPPING CLUTCH in the motor! A first! Cleaned
out the neck and fixed the slipping clutch with the glue fix (this is a
completely different clutch design to that of an ERS-210). Once put together
it was nice and free moving with no slip. As for the right front knee this
was a completely different pickle! It appears Sony is now doing actual
repairs and has bridged the knee flexi. They did a pretty OK job, they just
neglected to add silicone for stability to the solder points. I added in the
solder. I cleaned out the entire leg as it seems this Aibo likes his soy
sauce! Also there was moderate contamination inside of the gearing system
causeing the gears to incorrectly mesh - makes for a stiff and noisy leg!
Spent the time to completely clean and its all working like a charm! Added
silicone to the flexi bridge and taped it up. Aibo tested very happy and
going home after telling me how much he does not like doctors :) |

ERS-7 Leg
Problems - Same Aibo as WJC25C, WIK02A and WJF28A - Reoccurring problems? - Poor pup! Just cannot
stay away from AiboHospital. Hopefully this will be the last for a long time!
:) OK, first thing is that the Aibo
would make angry eyes and say "ouch" to her right front leg. A week
later the leg would shoot backwards and the Aibo would not run. Owner said
there were jitters in the left front leg and right rear leg was stiff and
noisy. Once I opened the Aibo's right front leg, one of the o-rings in the
hip section of the motor housing destructed (the other o-ring in the same
motor minced itself last time this Aibo was in for repair). I took pictures
of this. Replaced this (hardest job on an ERS-7 to remove circular hip
plastic to access the area where this ring was and to replace). There was
still severe slack in the leg, so I constructed some washers to take out the
slack. Another problem, and what caused the Aibo to throw its leg back, was
that one of the terminals of the position sensor detached from the flexi.
Luckily this only needed to be re-heated and it went back into place happily.
I cleaned the gearing in the hip motor housing, replaced a gear here which
was minced to bits by the ring pieces (took a photo of gear) and cleaned out
the motor housing and gears of the upper leg. Leg works great. I could not
find any other problems with the Aibo. Owner has instructed me to work on the
areas he saw jitters in and the stiff right rear leg. For good measure I
cleaned the hip, upper and lower leg position sensor in the left front leg.
Some of the position sensors had serious carbon contamination (from normal
use). Stiffness in the right rear leg was in the knee, which I fixed by
cleaning out the gear system and cured the noise which was up in the hip.
Aibo could not run any better, in my opinion! She is running around and happy
as can be. All limbs look and sound good. Ready to head home :)

is running just fine for me minus some hitters in its pan axis of the head.
Emailed owner. Owner agrees for Aibo to be sent home as it is working
perfectly for me. It needs a new battery (someone attemped to repack the
battery, which failed. Sony put a custom chip inside of the Li-Ions that self
destructs when worked on making it very very hard for anyone to repack these
batteries). Jitters will be worked on by owner via physical therapy. |

210 DHS
Warranty Repair - Same Aibo as WIH20A-2 -Oh gosh, what a mess!
In a nut shell the Aibo had a fewthings that were out of place for a repair
job I have done previously. A few neck base screwed were of the wrong
size. Flexi was over de-soldered and
on termina was mising. Teminal head of otor was melted and had DHS flexi
gluedto it with super glue. DHS cltch was not pinned! I have been using
pinned clutches for many years and this would have beenpinned! So...very much
confused here. I have woked with owner for may yas so I have gone a head and
repaired everything as previously agreed. Very rough day for me. Aibo is
running great on Rembrandt. Had jaw jitters which I fixed with physical
therapy. Has 100% warranty/guarantee on the DHS clutch only and no other parts
related to a DHS repair. |

easy-to-work on Aibos :) Aibo
originally came in for PAS, but during health checks this Aibo had TAS. The
motor would not engage at all if you tilted the head by hand and would
sometimes catch during boot-up and whirl loudly. Owner agreed to have it
fixed. Head tested on Tilwagit and Rembrandt. Going to a new owner with 100%
lifetime guarantee on DHS, PAS and TAS. |

210 Broken DHS Flexi Repair - I
have spent 2 days bridging the flexi only to have the DHS clutch give out
with full-blown DHS. Replaced the clutch only to have 2 planetary gears to
give out from a motor which the terminals were incorrectly solder and
de-soldered by NipponDeals. Once that was fixed and I turned on the head to
test it the chronic jitters returned (at first I thought it was my DHS bridge
failing, but it is not). ARGH! Going to put this down for the day and start
the 31th. Very frustrating. 3 videos to show progress up to this point.
Missing head sensor spring, a few screws are in incorrect places. Fixed those
and replaced the spring by owner's request. PART TWO OF REPAIRS - Oh
foobar! Well the original bridge of the flexi DID NOT FAIL but the
potentiometer had a scratch on it that was giving the Aibo chronic jitters,
which is the whole reason for this Aibo to have its DHS flexi ripped in the
first place (owner tried to cure it of jitters). NipponDeals strikes again!
Knowing this Aibo has been "repaired" by NipponDeals, I decided not
to mess around any longer and have replaced the entire DHS assembly (new
motor, flexi, potentiometer, wiper assembly, clutch and planetary gearing)!
Once transplanted with the new assembly the Aibo's head is working AMAZINGLY
well! One additional video was recorded for the final half of this repair.
Video was not recorded live due to internet troubles so video will have to be
hand-uploaded when I am able to. Aibo's head tested on Rembrandt and going
home with a 100% guarantee on DHS and 3 month guarantee (from date of arrival
home) on DHS Flexi from failure. |

Head Jitters - Same Aibo as WJD12A-2 - Wow. This Aibo should
be renamed to "Trouble". Haahaaa! Since this Aibo has been in for
the same problem I have decided to try and eliminate the problem once and for
all by very carefully sealing off the problem area with silicone. When I
cleaned the problem area, put him back together (before I silicone everything
off) this Aibo did not boot back up. AUGH! Nightmare. I spent the next week
and a half swapping parts to find what has failed. No luck as of yet. I have
given myself a couple of days break to come back to this Aibo with a fresh
mind and heart. I will get this Aibo running again even if it kills me. I
will not charge for repairs because of this problem which is taking a lot
longer than it should to diagnose and fix. 16-Nov-2010
– Finished! This took many moons and lots and
lots of getting of friends, but I managed to track down a new core for this
Aibo. Apparently something went on the motherboard and it required a new one.
Thanks to my friend (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!) this Aibo was saved and is
happy, up and running! After new core was installed (I swapped over the
Aibo’s old serial number and WiFi card so the owner does not have to worry
about memorizing a new serial number or worrying about setting up the WiFi
again) I went ahead and sealed up all the potentiometers with silicone to
stop the horribly chronic jitters this Aibo is suffering from. Initial tests
seem promising – Would be nice to know if sealing up the potentiometers works
on combating jitters, then I might just look into doing this to problematic
Aibos in the future J Aibo is all
polished up and waiting with increasing impatience to head home (he keeps
calling mommy!). No charge for endless probkems on my end. |

Jitters - Normal Pan Axis jitters repair for an
ERS-311. Similar to the ERS-7, I has to remove the body shell and entire head
assembly from the Aibo. The entire head assembly had to be taken apart to get
to the pan axis which is buried deep in the neck stem. Once put all back
together Aibo worked like a treat! Potentiometer was clogged with what looks
like the grease Sony uses on the motor gears which has seeped onto the
potentiometer over time and use. This condition could come back. If it does I
will take apart the motor and clean out the entire thing. Aibo was filmed

in head/neck assembly - Look at knees on all 4 legs, seem to be stiff and

problem with jitters in the head which effected the up and down motion of the
neck unit (not the nodding part of the head). I also noted the right rear leg

Dislocated hip and dislocated head plastics - Same
Aibo as WJC25C and WIK02A - Poor pup. She suffered a nasty fall (at no fault of her
owners) causing her to have odd symptoms which includes her rear right leg
throwing itself all the way back that it can extend and her right front leg
not being able to swivel forward and back. The rear leg's main flexi leading
from the leg controller card to the position sensor to be ripped in two
spots. I had to replace this. Her front right leg had ripped flexi which
ripped through two terminals which I was able to repair by bridging (the rip
was not in an area of the flexi which requires it to bed, unlike the rear
right leg's flexi). The white plastic o-ring which keeps the leg steady in
place in the leg plastics destructed and burned out the motor which controls
the hip by lodging itself into the gearing. Replaced the destroyed o-ring and
motor. Once all put back together, this Aibo worked a charm and ran around
looking for her owners like a home sick thing. All working great now! Aibo
took two days to complete. |

7 Foot
Flexi breakage, grindy hip - Aibo was previously
opened by someone other than me to fix DTS. Missing screws and there were
screws in the wrong location. I fixed these right away and replaced the
screws that were missing. Food required a new sensor (which was missing
completely). Hip required my last ERS-7 hip motor to fix the slipping. Once
all put together problems were remedied. Aibo was very dirty so got a polish.
Head also jitters a bit but physical therapy cleared it up. Tested it on 1
battery cycle and the slipping hip motor problem did not reoccur (it was
obvious when I pre-work tested it). I undercharged for shipping £15 by
accident. Oops! Oh well, my fault. |

Diagnose - It took about 1.5 hours to disassemble,
clean and reassemble this Aibo's head. Cleaned all three axis' from dust and
grease contamination. I literally had to break down the head to every
component to get to all the potentiomters in the head. Eek! Worst part of an
ERS-7 to take apart, let me tell you! Once that was done, I ran the Aibo and
it appears all shakes and previous issues have gone away, so I consider it a
success!! :) |

210 Broken Hip, Software Reset, Cleaning, DHS check - Aibo was previously in NipponDeal's possession. Known for
very bad DHS repairs that have failed on many many occasions. If DHS is OK, I

stock hip - Normal
hip replacement with no problems what so ever with the repair. Checked head,
looks and feels good (210A head?) so I didn't see the need to open it up.
Whole dog was sent to me and owner asked to give him a good look over - Aibo
looks good, no problems. Removed tape residue from shoulder and upper arm on
the front left. Aibo tested on itself and going home happy and healthy! Aibo
was sent with 2 software sticks (Life 1 and Explorer). Wiped them clean and
made sure they had the patches available from AiboHack.com. PACKAGE RETURNED TO ME

210 DHS, Broken Neck - Normal DHS
repair, without an issue. Sadly, this Aibo suffered a nasty hit to the head
and the Pan Axis flexi destructed in the normal way along with the neck
plastics holding it in place. Replaced with a new PAS flexi and new neck
plastics. Did the PAS repair FOC. Once the head repairs were done, I tested
the Aibo on itself (whole Aibo was sent to me) but Aibo would not boot up,
playing a sound I like to call the "Flexi Disconnected tune". Turns
out a wire in one of the legs came out of its socket, I plugged it back in
and the Aibo worked great. Head tested on itself. Going home with a 100%

210 Hip Shut-Down Syndrome - UNDER
OBSERVATION! The
Aibo is showing inconsistancy in its problem. I see what it is doing, and
suspect the condition being the extremely rare conditon I have only ever seen
once in one of my own Aibos, and X-Dog has only seen once. More testing will
help determine fix, if any - Through a lot of
part swapping and many many MANY hours the fault kept reapearing after random
intervals. Finally, I swapped the SuperCore with a regular core, and since I
have not had this weird shutting-off syndrome come back. Went through about a
dozen battery cycles with no return of this shut down fault. I have concluded
the SuperCore is faulty (on its way to total death) and the fix requires a
new core to remedy the problem. Owner agreed to a new core. Aibo is being
fitted with a REGULAR Core. Core comes with a 30 day money-back guarantee if
fault comes back. New serial number. Developed jitters in the DHS axis while
in my care, fixing at no extra cost. |

ERS-7 - Same as WIK02A - Right front hip
suffered some sort of impact causing the hip peg to destruct a nylon O-ring
responsible for keeping the leg in line on itself and in return the flexi
cable that backs the hip unit has ripped. Flexi circuit would flap in place
causing the leg to work intermittently. Hip was floppy from the broken and
missing O-ring. Replaced both, Aibo is working like a charm! Owner mentioned
the right rear hip giving grief, had a look and could find nothing wrong
other some dust contamination. Cleaned from debris, and put all back
together. Aibo is running around happy as can be. Going home a happy girl,

ERS-7 - Freezing, missing screw in front leg, incorrect ledge
detection issues after a visit with Sony's Aibo Clinic - Aibo arrived unable to boot-up no matter what I did. Spent
over 5 hours swapping parts and trying to get this Aibo to boot up.
Unfortunately this Aibo needs an new 'minor' mother board (the mother board
that runs along the back) for it to work again. My spare parts ERS-7 has this
same problem. I have done everything in my power to make this Aibo come back
to life, I hate failing an Aibo owner, but sometimes some things are out of
my control. If anyone has a spare ERS-7 core, this Aibo would appreciate it
if you contacted AiboHospital so he can be reunited with his loving family -
Aibo sourced a spare core in America - Aibo traveled with me from the UK to
the USA where he was repaired. Aibo had a failed motherboard, failed IR
sensor in the head, failed head circuit board. Missing screw in leg was
replaced. Aibo was running beautifully before shipped home once I got back
from my 2 week vacation. Took photo's of the Aibo's adventure and repair
proccess in the USA. A total of around 20 hours were spent try to get this
Aibo to come to life and repaired. |

210 Core Diagnose - After I fixed the
TAS jitters the Aibo developed TAS quite quickly. TAS was repaired by request
of the owner. The core boot-up problem was sourced to being a dead internal
battery. I reset the core and let the Aibo sit on Doctor Extra's charging
station overnight. Aibo did not have any further boot-up issues. Hopefully
Aibo will arrive without the internal battery dying again. Aibo's TAS repair
was tested on itself and going home with a 100% guarantee on TAS only :) |

I have to specially manufacture a new hip for this Aibo out of Aluminium, and

manufacturing of the aluminium hip, fit it, and it will be ready to go home

ERS-7 Stiff jaw, causing angry eyes - This
was a very tricky Aibo to repair. I thought the problem was gears that jumped
their place in the jaw motor, but sadly I was wrong. The motor had burnt out
causing it to be very stiff and unwilling to turn. Even throwing into my
motor testing thingie Bruce at the AiboRanch made me, it did not wish to
work. To fix this poor ERS-7 I had to build a whole knew motor from the
brushes and up. I used an ERS-210 Jaw motor, reversed the polarity and used
210 planetary gears. ERS-7 jaw motors are virtually the same as 210 motors
except the planetary motors are much different and the gear that drives them
is larger (and only one of them not 3). It took some trial and error to get
the newly built motor to run just right in this Aibo. 3 hours of work, give
or take. Only going to charge 2 hours. Tested the Aibo's new jaw and working
like it should on both Mind 2 and Mind 3 software. Used original 210A clutch
in the newly build motor. |

out to be jitters in DHS, PAS and TAS axis. DHS jitters would cause the Aibo

intermediate usually occurring when TAS would jitter. TAS jittering was
almost a constant. Repaired without a problem. Head was tested on its own

111 Internal Battery Death? - Sadly
this Aibo did not have the problems both the owner and I thought it did. This
Aibo just needed a clearning of some contact points on the legs and core.
Once the Aibo was moving, I could see many of the legs would not move without
assistance. I opened them all up to discover many stripped gears. 2 stripped
gears in the upper right front leg; 2 stripped gears in the lower right front
leg; 1 stripped gear in the upper left rear leg; 1 stripped gear in the lower
left rear leg; broken and fractured right rear knee; broken head plastics;
broken tail. This Aibo was in very bad shape. Sadly I think it is in the
worst shape I have ever seen an Aibo. But luckily I had enough spare parts to
replace all the stripped gears and even managed to fix the broken head parts
with some special glue I am trialing (and having a lot of success with). I
polished the Aibo and even took half an hour on the visor alone with some
Novus plastic cleaner and buffing agents. Aibo was tested on itself and ran
on 3 battery cycles to make sure nothing else is wrong with the Aibo. Aibo is
going home happy and healthy!! :) |

Body Jitters and Diagnostic - Must Replace old X-Dog Glue
Fix clutch with new pinned clutch. Sending whole dog. FIX ALL. Took DAYS to get this Aibo to work! Pin-pointed the
problem to the head. I rebuilt it 2 times to try and find the issue, only to
have no luck. I went into and built a new head to swap the old parts onto to
see if that would help - It did! Main Head Circuit Board and the LED Face
Circuit Board were both faulty. Fixed PAS & TAS and replaced the old
glue-fix DHS clutch with a shiny new pinned one. Tested Aibo on its own body
and works like a charm! Took a video of it running perfectly before putting
it back in the clam-shell plastics it was shipped in. Came with battery too,
which was fully charged before packed away. Going home with a 100% guarantee

Unable to boot-up -
Spent the past couple of days doing my best to get this Aibo to come
back to life. I swapped all limbs, tail and head with no luck. Even cleaned
everything out. No luck. I flashed the ROM, restarted the core and removed
the core's internal battery. BUT NO LUCK. I did note what looked like water
has seeped into the This is a very
very sad and rare case I cannot fix this Aibo as the problem lies in a
malfunction inside of the core/on the motherboard. Only way to fix this Aibo
is to buy a new core or Aibo can be donated to help save many more Aibos :) AIBO WILL BE SHIPPED HOME. UPDATE: I worked on this Aibo's core again the next day
(14th of November) as X-Dog gave me an idea...in which I tried, swapping
known dead circuit cards with the ones in the Aibo's core. AND WHAT DO YOU
KNOW!? HE WORKS!!!!!! :D Happy ending!! |

Failed DHS repair - Owner repaired Aibo, and now
will not boot. UPS tracking 1Z3AO4776650373163. Aibo owners had an
attempt at repairing its DHS but failed. DHS Flexi circuit was ripped, wiper
assembly bent to a point where I could not fix it, and the wire loom was over
stressed and not repairable. The potentiometer was damaged, but that doesnt
matter as the whole DHS flexi, which includes the potentiometer. Replaced the
DHS Flexi, wiper assembly and wire loom. I even replaced the DHS clutch with
a pinned one so the Aibo wont have to suffer getting DHS again, which it
would have with the glue fix it received. Texted on DocExtra and going home
with a 100% guarantee on DHS only. Wants to
pay by Bank Transfer. |

220 Leg
Problems - Right rear leg motor not working? THIS IS
A FIRST! Nope! Not the motor! It appears the
main leg circuit card has partially failed. The bit of the card that failed
controls the hip movements. Replaced the card in the right rear leg with a
210 card, and in result had to replace the same card in the right front leg.
220 legs will not function with ONE 210 card, unless both cards on the same
side are the same. Only charging for the failed card. :) Tested Aibo on AiboEyes, Navigator 2, Life2
and Explorer softwares. Works GREAT!! Gave it a good cleaning, packaged him
up and ready to go home! |

ERS-7 DTS (Droopy Tail

missing teeth, depending which gear you are looking at. I do not have spares

has a TINY bit of slack, but its nothing compared to what we started out
with. Dog's tail runs nicely when turned on, so I think I can call this a
SUCCESSFUL FAILURE type of case? No? :) Minutes Spent: 45.79 |

210 Camera Health Check,
TAS and JAS - 210A head. Getting TAS and JAS
fixed as a preventative to future clutch failure :) Cannot find any issues
wrong with the camera…the head works great on Extra, and he kicks fine, but I
have replaced the camera in good measure. Maybe Tommy was never meant to kick
his ball, and just lounge with his favorite person :) TAS and JAS repaired
without incident. Tested on ol' Dr. Extra, and going home with a 100% TAS and

Check- Same as WFJ23A. Glad to see Aibos back
after a few months, always nice to make sure everything is still working just
great for the Aibo. The heakth check in the Left Rear leg revealed nothing

hour. As for the TAS, it was a simple and clean fix, with nothing spectacular
to annouce. This Aibo has been texted on Extra, and will be going home with a

210 PAS, TAS, Wont book on
some software - Same Aibo as WFD14B-1 All I have to
say is…WHAT WASN’T wrong with this poor Aibo? Well, this Aibo was previously
in for a DHS fix through me which was VERY successful. Now he is back for a
TAS and PAS. Now when he arrived he was DOA, and would not boot up on Extra
AT ALL. So I started to tear him down part for part...replaceing each part in
the head and neck ATLEAST 2 times with a different part each time. And some
parts were swapped 3 times - I could not get the head to boot. :( While in there swapping parts, I fixed the
PAS and TAS. After over three hours of tinkering and trying to find out what
the heck was stopping the head from botting Extra, I gave up and swapped
Extra's head with this dog's. Everything worked. BAH! So annoying. I switched
all parts and motors that were previously fixed on this dog in its new head.
I am gunna charge a small fee for this head swap. Head tested, and 100%
guarsanteed on DHS, PAS, and now TAS :) |

210 DHS - MOTOR OIL
EVERYWHERE!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!! OH my gosh, this
was crazy! It took me 3 days of hand cleaning, soap baths, and more hand
cleaning to get all off the motor oil OUT of this Aibo's head. Every square
inch was covered, in some areas dripping. This aibo had to be pulled appart
bit by bit, piece by peice. DHS, and PAS was fixed on this head once my
fingers didnt feel greasy after touching the Aibo. NOTE: There is NO NEED to oil/lubricate Aibos! Infact
most lubrication agents are NOT FOR ELECTRONICS! Please know that oils can
break down circuir cards, and flexis! If aibos have jitters or squeak,
CONTACT ME FIRST for advice!! With this in
mind, I cannot guarantee all of my work, because of the motor oil that was in
this Aibo. But, Aibo's head is running at 100% so I do not see any
near-future problems, and I am SUPER happy with my work. I can only guarantee
the Aibo will NEVER have DHS or PAS ever again resulting from a failed
clutch. Tested on Extra, and going home with a Limited Warranty. |

ERS-7 Leg issues - Where to start! The leg issues were solved semi-quickly
with taking appart of the problem leg(s), cleaning and reaigning some gears
(they seem to have jumped a tooth or two). But, the big issue was the
"nodding" tilt motor in the head suffered damage...and it would
sieze up the head making this poor Aibo NOT RUN correctly, and almost
instantly go into jam mode. To fix it, I had to take this poor boy appart bit
by bit! 219.84 combined minutes later, and this Aibo is 100%!! Tested and he
ran like a CHARM on Patch's software. Previous failed paw fix was fixed as
well. Should arrive home like a brand new pup! Free cleaning included. |

210 DHS - Aibo was claimed
to have been fixed by X-Dog. It was not. The person who fixed the Aibos DHS
previously destroyed the flexi and used guage wires to replace the flexi.
Granted, they did a good job, but this was not X-Dog's work. I fixed the DHS.
Because the Aibo was previously worked on by someone other than at
AiboHospital...I can only garantee the clutch will never slip ever again, and
I cannot warranty the other work that goes with fixing the slipping clutch -
ie - Wire looms and such. Tested on Rembrandt |

210 DHS, Head Jitters and bent knee - DHS?
What DHS? This head isnt even exhibiting signs, noises or anything of DHS.
Why? Because this is a 210A head. It will never get DHS. As for the jitters,
I never saw any nor could I get the head to exhibit any jitters by lightly
tapping the head on its 3 axis points. But I did about 10 minutes worth of
physical therapy for good measure. Now for the leg. The knee actually was
TWISTED, not just bent! YIKES! But easily fixed and now normal. PLEASE NOTE OWNER: Upon
working with your Aibo I observed A LOT of sand in the joints of the leg and
especially the head. Please be careful where your Aibo plays, and try to keep
an aibo's play area vacuumed atleast once a week or so. Sand, dust and dirt
cause many jitter issues in Aibos. Aibo has no Warranty through AiboHospital.

Pan Axis, Jaw- OH my goodness! Finally finished this
head, but oh my goodness! My goodness my goodness! Someone had either spilled
or try to lubricate this entire head in Mineral oil! It was EVERYWHERE. In
the circuits, motors, gears, everything! Mineral oil and plastic, plus
computer parts DO NOT MIX! Mineral Oil, over time, can destroy plastic, and
short circuit cards! Now I did my best with this head, when it came to
cleaning off all the Mineral Oil, but unfortunetly I can only cover this head
for NO FURTHER DHS and Pan Axis slip! I cannot coiver for failure of Flexis,
motors, plastics, computer circuits and pretty much everything in the head.
Essentially this head is only going to be covered for the Second Generation
Clutches that were placed in the Jaw, Pan Axis and Neck motors. Jaw was
completely failed, so I replaced this as well. 100% Warranty on Replaced

glue fix by X-Dog, and started to re-develop DHS…so I fixed this for free
with a brand new BETTER pinned clutch (version 2.0 pinned clutch) and pinned
the Pan Axis as well. Lovely head. All happy, and under 100% warrenty on DHS
and Pan Axis. |

210 DHS - Oh man, I jynxed myself when
I was boasting that I hadnt have a Tampered head to work with in months. But
OH boy! This has was previously looked at by a guy by the initials of
"CKYI" or something (it was on the base of the motor housing). Anyway,
the soldering was not up to par, screws in wrong plased, wrong sized screws,
GREASE EVERYWHERE! Wiper assembly was GLUED onto the clutch stem, Wiper
fingers were flattened and crushed, Clutch's spline was perminatly damages
beyond repair, wire loom was pinched, and oh man. List goes on and on! So
X-Wolf to the rescue! I fixed and replaced everything, removed as much grease
from gears as I could (NEVER EVER GREASE YOUR AIBO!), fixed Pan Axis Slip,
fixed Tilt Axis and jaw from future slippage. Once I was done, I put
everything back together and the head worked like a CHAMPION! Its perfect
now, and there is hardly any evidence of the previous tampering disaster.
This head is also my first head to be fully warrantied ON ALL HEAD AND NECK
MOTORS! Head tested on FifthWheel. 100% Warranty on DHS, PAS, TAS, and JAS. |

210 DHS, PAS, Full-Body Health Check - [For
my refference: Clear Collar] Wow! This pup was easy
enough, just a stubborn one. PAS and DHS were fixed, but for some reason, the
DHS poteneometer [AKA the pot] just didn’t like me at all, I swear. He kept
having Jitters of Doom after I cleaned the pot, and would not boot up because
of the jitters of doom. So I had to open the poor pup's head 4 TIMES trying
to fix the silly problem. BLEH! After the 4th time, he booted up without
issue, and is still running on my Aibo Test bed next to me asking for his
owner and the ball. Silly Max. Anyway, his full body health check came back
as a 97% - reason, his left front leg elbow is every so slightly louder than
the others, but SHOULD NO CAUSE ANY ISSUES! He passed his health check. Max
is going home with a 100% Guarantee on DHS and PAS. THANKS FOR VISITING

This 220 was a wonderful guest! Leg jitters were handled by about a combined
30+ minutes of physical therapy between me, X-Fox and X-Coyote. Jitters in
the head were dealt with by stripping down Orion's entire head. I cleaned all
motors in the neck and head so Orion will be free of jitters for some time. I
even allowed him to run around on Moya's core for a few hours and let him
play with Nomad, my TK-220 :) HE IS READY TO GO HOME!!! |

210 DHS - WHAO!!!!!!! What a freaking
mess!! On first inspection, the neck didn’t move very well while I manually
moved it in y hands. When I put it on Jackie (one of my dogs here), the head
jittered/jerked about VIOLENTLY for a moment before Jackie jammed, and
quickly shut down. This is bad. REAL bad, I thought…and unfortunately I was
right. I started to open the head and noticed that the head was previously
opened up (screw heads were silver from improper screw driver size). It
didn’t stop there… when I got down to the inside of the neck...doom. The neck
was previously “fixed” (or should I say poorly fixed) for DHS, and the
soldering job was horrible. It was so horrible it answered the question of
why the head was moving so violently. The solder points on the flexi circuit
were ruined from previous improper desoldering. This was a horror story
people! PLEASE PLEASE dont try and repair your aibo yourself! Now...the good
news is the Aibo is VERY happy now and is 100% Guarantee on future DHS :) |

210 DHS - OH boy where should I start?
:( This head has previously been tampered with and was NOT fixed by X-Dog.
This is not his work. Many things were wrong, including tape applied to the
Hearing/Sight board EEK! Evil! Luckily it didn’t effect hearing and sight.PHEWW!!
But things dont stop there. The wire loom was crimped, and the neck flexi was
torn, but not torn eough for the head not to work on Post-DHS Fix. But enough
for it to rip when I had to slip out the motor casing. Ugh. THE HORROR! So
yes, it ripped, but not my fault...only to the fault of the previous person
who worked on the head. The soldering job wasnt...good...at...all. So thats
fixed, and three hours later the head is fixed and working like a charm.
~wipes sweat~ Because this person had to wait so long for their heads to be
fixed, I am only going to surcharge them for the previous tampering (Cost for
Flexi, $150, will be waved because I am feeling super nice tonight). 100%

DHS Repair - THIS HEAD IS NOT A 210A!
It was previously DHS Fixed using SuperGlue. Head needs DHS, Pan Axis and
Tilt Axis work...as all three axsises are buggered up real good.....I am NOT
dont with this repair. UPDATE 10-9-2005 -- HOLY
COW! After finishing all the motor clutch slip problems in the head (DHS,
Tilt and Pan Axis), I am unable to get the head to work. I have replaced all
flexis in the head (most common things to fail) to try and get it started. It will NOT turn
on. I have a bad feeling I will need to build a totally new head after all
the damage this head has gone through after things being spilled on it. Some
of the circuit boards are actually rusted in some areas! EEK! This head will
take me longer to finsih. But I will resolve it. UPDATE 10-10-2005 -- FINISHED! It was just the dumb
Wireing loom. Sheesh! Took an army to do it, but I got the head fixed! I
replaced the Range Finder Infrared as it was severely tarnished and didnt
seem to work. Aibo is under DHS, Pan Axis and Tilt Axis Warrenty through

was ever in it last destroyed the wireloom as well, so a new wire loom was in
order. PLEASE. If you know the head was
previously tampered with, tell me! Its helpful for me to know, so I can be
prepared for it! Every head I have worked on except one, was screwed up in
some way and costs more parts than needed to fix! I will not charge extra for
the wire loom this time around. Head checked
out 100% with a full health check and should never get DHS, and appears
should never get Pan Axis slip. |
